Meet Our Teachers
Timbre Greenwood, RYT 500,
Studio Owner
Timbre began her teaching journey as a high school English teacher and is a certified Secondary Language Arts Teacher with a master’s degree in Media Literacy. Choosing to leave the classroom to care for her children led her to become a yoga teacher and then, as of May 2025, the owner of Green Wood Yoga.
She first discovered yoga in her early twenties, but it wasn’t until her late thirties — when life handed her a series of challenges — that Timbre truly turned to the practice for support. Through yoga, she found a way to ground herself, recenter, and stay connected to what matters most. She strives to live and teach from a place of self-compassion, understanding that we all need space to pause, breathe, and find our way back to ourselves.
Timbre teaches yoga to build strength in the body, mind, and spirit. She brings all her knowledge, experience, and heart into every class, thoughtfully designing each sequence with care for both anatomy and energy flow. In Timbre’s classes, you’ll move with awareness, tune in to your body, and connect with yourself on a deeper, more present level — always honoring exactly where you are in your journey.
Married to her eternal love, Timbre is mother to three pretty amazing kids and a couple of dogs. She taught English for 13 years in Utah but chose to stay at home with her children upon a move to Tennessee in 2018. It was in Tennessee that she met her mentor, took her initial yoga teacher training course, and began to teach yoga. Then through a fun twist of fate, she was able to continue to teach with and for that mentor upon their move to Iowa in 2021. It is her hope that Green Wood Yoga will continue the legacy of love warmth and welcome that has been established here in this space.

McKenzie Saffran, RYT 200,
Certified Mat Pilates Instructor
McKenzie was born and raised in Snohomish, WA and found her passion for yoga and fitness after taking her first hot yoga class in 2018. Through regular practice she found immense joy, learned to feel better in her body, but most importantly started to feel more at peace in the mind. It was then that she realized she wanted to share that with others. Upon her completion of her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training in 2019 she immediately began teaching Hatha and Power Vinyasa classes and has been pursuing sharing her love of yoga with others.
McKenzie is always on the pursuit to learning more about the art of yoga and all the benefits it provides body and mind! She has taken continuing education workshops with Stacy Dockins, Samantha Westerwelle, Chuck Betker, and Lynn Moser. When McKenzie is not doing yoga she also enjoys participating in other aspects of physical fitness, and it is through this exploration of fitness that she discovered Pilates.
McKenzie became certified to teach Mat Pilates in 2025 and is excited to continue to refine and explore this craft. She found it to be a complement to her yoga practice, challenging the body in different ways and improving strength, stability, and providing variety in her wellness routine. McKenzie believes she was put here to share her joy with others, to help others improve their wellbeing and find confidence in themselves through movement and community. Each day is different, and McKenzie’s goal is to empower you to be the captain of your own ship, truly working to become more in tune with the body and mind and honor what you need to find on your mat on any individual day.
McKenzie found her way to Iowa after marrying her husband Chance who is a Farley native. When she isn’t doing Yoga or Pilates you can find her spending time with her dog or horse, baking treats, or reading a good book. She hopes to meet you very soon!
